Bill LoSasso, the new director of NYC Parks GreenThumb program, was our featured guest at the Gardens Rising Roundtable, on Wednesday, February 24th at the Neighborhood Preservation Center, 232 E. 11th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. The largest community garden program in the country, GreenThumb administers over 1,000 community and school gardens in New York City. Previously, Bill served as Executive Director of La Plaza Cultural de Armando Perez community garden on Avenue C and 9th Street. This marks the first time a community gardener has been tagged to head the GreenThumb program, and we are very proud of Bill. Thanks to all who came to the Roundtable to wish him well and share his vision!
