Roundtable on Gardens Rising

Join us for a discussion on the opportunities, ideas and challenges to take on Gardens Rising. We will brainstorm with professionals in nature-based and green Infrastructure and other related disciplines to discover following steps for this project.

This week’s round-table features:

  • Margot Walker and John McLaughlin, NYC Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Ilan Kutok, Green Infrastructure NYC Department of Parks.
  • Brigid Keating, Bioswale Construction Coordinator NYC Economic Development Corporation.
  • Eva Hanhardt, City and Environmental Planning Consultant and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Urban and Environmental Planning at Pratt Institute.
  • Ross Martin, La Plaza Community Gardener and Landscape Designer.

Let’s meet tomorrow Friday, December 4 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Neighborhood Preservation Center, located on 232 E.11th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

Gardens Rising is inspired in Super Storm Sandy, a project funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development through the state of New York to control flooding in vulnerable city areas with nature-based infrastructure in our NYCCGC community gardens.
