Garden Groups

For more than 40 years, the community gardens of New York City have been nurtured by generations of citizens interested in improving their local community while making our city and the world greener, more livable, and more sustainable. When New York City was struck by Superstorm Sandy in 2012, gardens again proved their value as places of mutual aid and support. Across the country, New York City has long been looked to as a beacon of community spirit, and we vow that our gardens will face the challenges of a changing climate to grow and thrive for generations to come.
